Project Challenge
The challenge was to be able to integrate all the functions and elements of an ice cream parlor and cafeteria on an island, a situation never before done by the Chungo brand. The operation had to respect seasonality without creating attention problems and separating the areas, also integrating the sitting area.
Designing an integrated ice cream parlor and cafeteria on an island, especially for a brand like Chungo, requires careful planning to ensure functionality, aesthetic appeal, and a seamless customer experience. Here’s how the challenge could have been approached:
The Solution
An oval shape is an interesting choice as it allows for a central focal point and easy movement around the island.
Divide the oval space into two distinct areas: the ice cream parlor and the cafeteria. Use visual cues like flooring, lighting, and color schemes to differentiate the two sides.
The ice cream parlor side should have a colorful and inviting atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to showcase Chungo’s delicious ice cream offerings.
he cafeteria side should have a more subdued and cozy ambiance. It’s the area where customers can sit down and enjoy coffee, pastries, or other menu items.
Use comfortable seating, like chairs and tables, with a focus on creating a relaxed environment.
Consider adding a counter with bar stools for those who want to enjoy a quick snack.
Include subtle lighting and decorative elements that promote relaxation and conversation.
By following these design principles and addressing the specific challenges of integrating an ice cream parlor and cafeteria on an island, the result should be a delightful and functional space that embodies the Chungo brand while catering to the island’s unique conditions and customer needs.
